My Journey

A little bit about me and how I landed where I am
today.
Althrough my childhood I remember hearing “you’re too much, you’re so sensitive, she’s the issue, it’s her fault, no one knows

what to do with you…” .I felt everything around me. My parents were kids who
had kids. I also have a sister who is a year younger than me and she’s still my
sidekick to this day! My parents weren’t able to help me regulate my emotions
or to help me process them. I was learning to read the room and how to please
those around me instead of being a kid. At the age of 8 I was hit by a car and
received a brain injury. Closely following by watching my grandfather wither away from brain cancer.
Seeing him in a casket, it hit me and I felt I was drowning. Next thing I
remember I’m counting anything and everything, needing to use a certain spoon
and everything revolved around the number 16. I thought I caused him to die
and I then took on that I had to do certain things to keep those close, alive. I was
diagnosed with OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder). I was put onto
antidepressants a few years later and remained on them for 22 years.

I wanted to escape my household. I didn’t want to keep feeling the
pressure that I was. So, I took off to the Army at the age of 17 in-between my
junior and senior year of high school. Graduated high school, finished up my
military training and then was deployed overseas at the age of 19. Eight years in
the Army, a lot happened. Once I was out, I went to Massage Therapy School and
I knew I was right where I was supposed to be! Years later, I came across
Breathwork. I knew I had to get into it. Not only to heal myself but to share it
with others.

This is medicine that we have right inside of us using our BREATH! I
did webinars, workshops and research. I said “I wish Owaken Breathwork would
teach this.” And no lie, a few months later I received an email stating they were
going to launch their first ever certification program. I saw the price, DAMN, but
I asked the universe and there it was in my lap. I jumped on it. I had the
opportunity to invest in myself, to go deep, to walk the talk and take my healing
to the next level; to better serve myself and others with first hand experience. I
have never experienced anything like it. To view the past from an objective
perspective. To witness the subconscious/unconscious, which is about 95% of our
brain activity with habits, emotions, beliefs, creativity…by being in an ordinary
state of consciousness with your own breath. Having someone there to guide
you steps it up to another level. Being seen, heard and witnessed brings on so
much more to the healing. Releasing what no longer serves you by feeling the
feelings.

I can say that after 22 years of antidepressants, I am no longer on them.
I am no longer taking pain medication. I am able to regulate my nervous system
better, listen to my inner guidance/discernment and a big one for me, trusting
myself again. We are all capable and deserving of healing ourselves and I’d be honored to guide you through your own journey as you learn to heal yourself
too!
